Here's a very simple way to use this site's Google Search straight from your Firefox search bar without ever having to visit this page. Here's how you do it.
- Go to this site: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3682
- Select "Install Now"
- A "Software Installation" window will pop-up. It is the standard Mozilla Firefox add-on dialogue that you have most likely seen before. It will say "You have asked to install the following item..." - - You should select "Install Now" (This add-on is completely safe. It has been verified by Firefox and I've personally used it for a long time.)
- The dialogue box will now say "Restart Firefox". Go ahead and click that. It will close then bring all your windows and tabs back to the states they are in right now.
- Now navigate to the top of this page (http://search-center.blogspot.com) and locate the Google Search bar. Right-click inside it. You will see an option called "Add To Search Bar..." - - Select that option.
- A box will pop up that says "Google Search Center" and has an orange "B" for a favicon. Leave everything as it is and select OK.
- Now navigate to your Firefox search bar (usually in the top-right corner) and click the small down-arrow. This should reveal a list of available search engines. Select "Google Search Center" with the orange "B". Periodically see if it is still the default search. If not, just click the down arrow again and select "Google Search Center".
Now, every time you use your built-in Firefox search, you will be doing a regular Google search, but we will get a small portion of what Google generates in income from your searches! Of course one computer is not going to allow anyone to quit their day jobs, but if a bunch of people were willing to get behind us on this, we might find it easier to make it through these next couple of years while I heal up. Thank you!
